Floating Swimming Center, a new Marina Housing concept design
Marina Housing launches a new concept design, a floating swimming center that is available in two sizes.
Marina Housing builds floating buildings. The newest member of the Marina Housing family is a floating swimming center. It is a great solution for urban areas with shortage of free land and problems with the water quality. A floating swimming center can bring life to marinas, beach resorts and other shore areas and hotels near water.
The architecture of the floating swimming centers is light and functional. In the general design the facades and the underside of the wooden canopy are covered with larch battening. Facade materials can differ depending on the place and needs. The buildings are kept warm in the winter and they are built from house modules, a building method especially developed for floating structures. The pontoons and the house modules are lifted and assembled together on the shore. The finished swimming center is towed to place, access jetties and bridges are installed and connections to the municipal systems are done. The floating swimming center is anchored to place with flexible Seaflex rubber cable anchors that allow the structure to move with the water level. All pontoon and anchoring structures are carefully designed according to the local conditions.
There are two sizes of the floating swimming center available. The large floating swimming center is designed for 200 people. The buildings form a U-shape that creates a space protected from wind and the eyes of the bypassers. The swimming center has 20x25meter pool, a shallow pool for children, terrace for sunbathing and a cafe with terrace. The pools are made of special fiberglass shell that water can penetrate. The sweet water stays in the pool with a special fabric. When the pool is emptied the sea water fills the fiberglass shell. The smaller swimming center is designed for 60 people. It is a smaller version of its bigsister, with one pool and a canopy made of white fabric. The size and shape of the floating swimming center can be altered according to the needs of the client.
